Need dual monitor remote desktop to a Win7 Pro computer

I have tried Splashtop, RealVNC, LogMeIn, and GoToMyPC and none of them seem to replicate the remote desktop ability to extend the desktop to dual monitors at full resolution (many of them scraping only the laptop's low resolution).

Is there any other 3rd party tool? I've spend a lot of time looking and feel stuck. The only alternative is a very expensive dual head KVM switch.

The laptop is a corporate image that I can't change, even though I have access to Ultimate licenses.

So I think I found a viable workaround. While I couldn't use mstc /multimon with Win7 Pro I can use mstc /span. This gives me a silly desktop across both screens of 3840x1080.

I'm using 2 pieces of software to make this work more or less like mstc /multimon would.

    1. SplitView - gives most of the functionality you need for free: keeps windows from appearing in the middle (many windows would appear there by default), stops windows from spanning both monitors, allows snapping the window to the top of the screen to maximize to one monitor.

    2. Divvy - allows you to define a custom grid of snap areas. I went for 1 row by 4 columns. You can then assign shortcuts to these snap areas. For monitor 1 I chose win+alt+left and win+alt+right to snap to the left/right split on monitor 1. For monitor 2 I chose alt+left and alt+right to snap to the left/right split on monitor 2.

This sufficiently emulates the true multimon option without needing to spend €300 on a KVM switch.
