    So the sporadic network outages do not happen anymore if the pc is turned off? You have tested this for an entire day?

    I have not performed this test for an entire day however all indications are that the issue is originating from my PC. For instance, while watching Netflix on an Xbox One, the issue will suddenly crop up..Netflix freezes because network is down...I walk to my PC, pull its network cable out and immediately put it back in...poof. Issue resolved for the next 20-60 minutes of so...this has been going on for roughly 2 weeks on this Windwos installation and for another few weeks on the previous install so I have a pretty good feel for it...hope that helps...

    I have just uninstalled Norton Internet Security as a test to see if it was wreaking havoc however I do not believe that I had it installed on the previous Windows install so I am not very hopeful...

    Ok. If you are able to, please provide some packet capture info from the pc. From what you are saying, it seems your pc is saturating the network with some kind of traffic that is not allowing your router to handle any other traffic.

    Please also scan your computer with malwarebytes. It may come back with nothing because you have already reinstalled your pc but it is worth a try.

    Wireshark is my preferred tool. If you have a lot of storage space just let it run so that it captures when everything is working well and when the issues occurs and a little bit after the problem goes away. Sending me the packet capture would be the best way and we can figure out how you want to do that once you have the files.

    Also have you checked your event viewer logs to see if there are any errors there?

    I created a packet capture using Microsoft Network Monitoring tool however it is 55MB and I cant seem to get the attachment ability to work. It begins with the issue already present and runs for about 5 minutes at which point I pulled the network cable and reinserted it and let it run for another 30 seconds or so. Seems quite obvious as the only thing listed is CarboniteService.exe. Let me know if you still want me to upload it in a different manner and I will do some testing with Carbonite.

    I did some research on carbonite and I found one of many posts about this: Internet slowdowns/outages and Carbonite - Verizon Forums

    I would try uninstalling carbonite and see if the problem happens again.

    I have a spoken with Carbonite and they have escalated it to tier 3. I will update as soon as I know more.

    Thanks for all the help but it is clearly Carbonite that is the issue.
