How can I get my network adapter to go wireless?

Hello guys I'm a tech- savvy momma and wanted to know how can I get my network adapter that was once a router to show up as wireless? I see it as connected wired but it's not. Could it be I don't have a real wireless network adapter? I'm also using ddt-k forums for flashing the router. Can anyone please help?

    Hi lascott, welcome to sevenforums.

Can you please post a picture of your network adapters?

Go to start and type "Network and Sharing center" in the search box and open it

    Click Change Adapter Settings

Take a screen shot or use the snipping tool and post the Change Adapter Settings window here..

Sorry about that, managing so many threads is difficult.

Just as a run down, your internet connection is fine right now and you are only having problems with Fure tv?

Can you tell me the exact model of your router? Right now you are connected via ethernet. You will need a Wifi adapter on your PC to connect to it. To connect to your TV, I'm assuming its Wifi and you should have a disc or utility that goes with it that you need to setup on your PC so that they can be linked up.

The only way for your TV to show up on your network is if you had the TV connected to your wifi or you have it connected directly to your router/switch.

I have a netgear WGR614v8 and I already WiFi connection its weird because my router is flashed on ddt firmware to work as a network adapter but on my PC it shows up in status bar as wired liked the Ethernet hooked up. Weird. I wanted to save so be money by turning it into a network adapter.
