    Solved

I was lazy. All I did was leave the Homegroup on Win 7. Should have thought about it before.

    Congrats Sari,

Nice that you report the solution here, now some others can benefit from it.

Homegroup only works well with other win7 computers! A business workgroup works with Vista, XP, 2000, & even some win 98-SE computers

    Hello DocBrown,

I have a Windows 7 system and a Windows XP system, they both use the local network. They both use the same Workgroup name. When I browse the network, both systems are visible. When I like to print from XP to Windows 7 system, it works perfect.

What do you mean with Homegroups only works well with other win7 computers?

I hope you can tell me more about this subject.

    Best regards,

Homegroup is a Windows 7 construct, and only works with Windows 7 computers.

Thank you for helping me, I did not realize Workgroup vs Homegroup, I will read about it to understand the difference.

Have a nice day, and enjoy your beer ;-)

Thanks. I miss the fresh Heineken at the brewery (I lived in Oss, ie: farm country, for three years.) Any chance you could send me some?

Oss is a nice place, we have some friends there.
So you like Heineken, did you ever tried Grolsch?

    Have a nice day!

Of course! It's very tasty beer. Most of the time I bought Bavaria, because it was so cheap and it was the local beer. It took me a while to get used to the little beer glasses (you know us Americans - bigger is better!), but once I realized the beer could never get warm with such a small glass, I enjoyed them!
