    Router brand that actually works??

Hi I have about had it with router firmware that only half works.
I think my needs are pretty simple, but I am having a terrible time trying to get stuff to happen.
I want to be able to block certain outgoing URLs.
I want to be able to block certain local Static IP addresses. (Guest Account for instance)

I have a Buffalo router with DD-Wrt but that is too complicated to do stuff with. I do not have the time to spend learning the intricacies of DD-Wrt, but I am sure it can do the simple tasks I need, just not "simply." :)

I have a Netgear router supplied by the ADSL ISP, but it is branded with the ISP name and I have no idea of what the actual base Netgear model is to get a User Manual. It has "Netgear" and "Rev 3c," on the PCB but no other information.

I have an Actiontec GT784W that will do almost all I want but the built in firewall options preclude Port 465 (Secure SMTP) and there is no way to add that Port to the list.

I have a TP-Link W8980 and have configured the IPv4 firewall to block a URL but it is totally ignored. TP-Link CS is totally useless. They keep telling me to reboot the modem. DUH.

Can someone suggest a brand and model of Router with firmware that actually works for doing this stuff. Preferably, something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, having wasted money on routers that claim to do what I want but fail in real life, my budget at this stage is tight.

    Thanks

Your idea of "simple" is 2000-words and multiple areas of dd-wrt to configure ?

    My idea of simple is...
    Enter URL = www.vmware.com
    Desired Action = Deny
