Connection Problems
I recently upgraded to 7 from Vista, and ever since I've had internet connection problems nonstop. My system specs are:
System Manufacturer/Model Number: HP-Pavilion/KT372AA-A2L a6518f
OS: Windows 7 Home Premuim (student upgrade from Vista Home Premuim)
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5400+, 2800 Mhz
Motherboard: Seriously, I looked for any kind of label and can't find it.
Memory: 3.00 GB Ram
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
Sound Card: Realtek High Definition Audio
Monitor(s) Displays: Samsung SyncMater 920 Nx
Screen Resolution: 1280 x 1024
Hard Drives: Drive C, Local Fixed Disk 263.94 GB free of 455.43 GB total, Samsung
Right now we have one router connected to the modem (ISP is Shaw), and another connected to it that is piggybacking. Anytime I attempt a wired connection into the first router, I'm automatically connected to the piggybacked one, and can't get an internet connection. So I tried using a wireless connection with my Trendnet USB adapter TEW-424UB (CA) (which I have used problem-free on Vista for over a year), and I can get a connection on the second router, but only for a few minutes at a time before it drops. Sometimes it drops every five minutes, and others it can go for fifteen minutes or so before it drops. If I try to connect wirelessly to the first router (this is the router that I've been using for the past year), it shows that it's connected, but I can't access the internet.
Please help.
