    Network Trouble


    I'm running windows 7 ultimate on one of my computers and the other computer is
    running windows 8.1 and and I seem to have a problem in the networking section..

    windows 7 can see windows 8.1 in the sharing centre but every time I try to go in, it
    keeps asking for a password and the same with windows 8.1 .. I don't have any password
    on my computers.. where am I going wrong in this ??

    hi see if this helps see if password protect sharing is turned off. Password Protected Sharing - Turn On or Off in Windows 7

    I keep getting this problem

    You don't have permission to access the file or folder you're trying to access
    Contact the owner of the file or folder to ask for permission. If you're on a corporate network, contact your network administrator.

    This could help you, if you already have created a Homegroup for your network: Homegroup Password - View or Print
    If you hadn't created it yet, you can follow this tutorial on how to create: Homegroup - Create

    You need to be on the same group or domain to access shared folders/files.
