DNS server not responding

For some unknown reason, my laptop has continuous issues with the internet while all my other devices are compatible and working with my internet. I've diagnosed the problem several times throughout the entire week and provided me with a result informing me that the "device or resource (DNS server) is not responding." However, there are times when diagnostic was being taken place, it had disabled and enabled the wireless network connection and the internet would work; but only for a short period of time. I've tried disabling the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter but it had no effect. I was just wondering whether it was my laptop itself or is it my router?

Welcome to Seven Forums,

Have you tried using a fixed or static DNS? Is this happening in your wired connection as well?

Click on Start then Run or press Window key (next to left Ctrl key) +R and paste the following into the Run box, exactly as shown, including double quotes:

cmd /c "ipconfig /all > postme.txt & ping yahoo.com >> postme.txt & reg query "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" >> postme.txt & notepad postme.txt & del postme.txt"

and press ENTER.

A file will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the contents here. Close the Notepad window and the file will be deleted and the Command Prompt window will also close.

If you don't have a Run selection off the Start menu, see here: Enable Run Command on Windows 7 or Vista Start Menu, or How to access the 'Run' box in Windows® 8.1 - YouTube or just press Windows Key (next to the left Ctrl key) + R, or open the Modern desktop, type run then click on Run that appears

Uhh, not sure what you mean by a fixed or static DNS but the wired connection is working fine.

Followed the instructions but it didn't work. Notepad pop-up stating: "Cannot find the postme.txt file. Do you want to create a new file?" In addition, the command prompt shows up with "Access is denied" three times.

Try doing this from a Elevated Command Prompt.

Click on the Start button and type cmd.
DO NOT press Enter or click Go.
Look at the upper part of the window and you will see cmd.exe.
Right click on it and select Run as Administrator.

Now paste the full command from my previous post in the Command Prompt window.

You have a wireless and a Hamachi network connection. Google shows lots of problems with Hamachi. Is this a Virtual Network Adapter or a physical one?

Also see you are using OpenDNS. Have you tried going back to your ISP DNS?
