Wireless Network Connection Doesn't Have Valid IP Confi
Yesterday, I installed Windows 7 Home Premium as an upgrade to Vista Home Premium. I followed instructions carefully and everything went well...or so I thought...until I tried to get online (via Linksys Wireless N Router which has always been able to communicate with a Linksy Wireless N Broadband Router in the same room). Until, now, that is. When trying to get online, I get the message, "Wireless Network Connection Doesn't Have Valid IP Configuration."
I'm not a techie, so trying to understand the postings for this problem was difficult for me, if not impossible.
Would it be best for me to contact Microsoft Support? Help! I have to use my wife's computer to get online and I'm running the risk of being thrown out of the house.Local Area Connection" Doesn't have a valid ip config

I contacted Microsoft Technical Support and, a knowledgeable associate determined that my communication with the router should be WEP, not WPA as I had previously. Can connect without any difficulty now. Thanks for trying to help. I do appreciate it.

Happy days are here again.
Uh, well the only problem with that is that WEP is old and easily crackable, it's better than NOTHING but only a little
I can't believe that Windows 7 doesn't support WPA? I'd try to get WPA working again myself, maybe google more for Windows 7 WPA setup instructions...

Hello guys, my laptop displays exactly de same message "Wireless Network Connection. doesn't have a valid IP configuration" . But I don't believe that the problem would be with the wireless because we've got others laptops working properly in our house. Plus, my laptop was working well 2 days ago and suddenly it has just stopped to get the internet working.
Could I post here the information from my laptop ,following the procedure posted here and perhaps one of you guys could , please, give me a hand?
