Agreed, my encryption code is correct and after entering it, I am directed to select a PC. My PC's name does show and then after selecting it, I'm then asked to enter the username and PW. For these last two entries I have been assuming that I am being asked for the computer user's username and PW??? I have tried entering the un and pw that went with my logging on to the computer (BTW, as the user I do log on as an administrator,) but these have all failed. I then tried setting up a new user account, but couldn't as I was getting an error message that said a "certain" folder could be made (forgot the exact terminology). Lastly, I finally did recognize that I already had a standard user account and this account didn't have a pw. So, I made the appropriate folder that was to receive the camera's pictures and then entered the account's username and left the pw field blank (as there was no pw for this user account.) This failed also...incorrect username or pw???

My PC's workgroup name is Workgroup. I can't use the camerasync user account because it is not a functioning account (see above,) and as you can see from above (also,) my "good" standard user account doesn't work either. I'm at wit's end...

Yes, as long as the user has appropriate share and NTFS permissions to the shared folder, you should be able to use that account. The account you use must be enabled. Guest is by default disabled.

Do you have another PC/laptop in the house? Or iPhone/Android? (http://www.howtogeek.com/191378/how-to-access-shared-windows-folders-on-android-ipad-and-iphone/) This is to check if you can actually browse to a share.

Please create another account (if you get any errors, take a screenshot and post), don't login with it, just create with your main admin account. Then add it to permissions, as you had done previously with camerasync. But also add "everyone" as full control (read/write) to shared folder permissions and NTFS permissions. See if that will correct the issue.

Quite possible that I'm not sharing correctly...I'm not too good on my own with that stuff. Later, I will check on the sharing issue with my portable PC. I wouldn't mind creating a new user account, but I don't think I can as indicated by the earlier trouble and failure to create "camerasync." However, I did get back to my Guest user account (the one into which I placed the Panasonic folder) and made sure that everything, including "Everyone" had read/write and full permissions. Then tried to hook the camera into that user (username-Guest and no PW), still got the same error message due to wrong username or wrong PW.

EDIT: Still haven't check on portable PC, but I did go to the tutorial and everything in the sharing folder (pictures/panasonic) has full permissions and read/write, but still no wifi hookup.

Make sure you are giving Everyone full control on both Sharing tab and Security tab.

I've got every one sharing everything onthe share and security tabs. I've added a PW to my Guest acct figuring maybe I needed to make a positive entry for PW. Still get into the wifi, but not the Guest acct. Could it be that I can't get into it becasue it is probably a temp acct that automatically was set up on with the initial windows setup?

As you know, previously setting up a new user acct failed because windows couldn't utilize a folder. Don't recall the folder, but while doing research I think I found a reason why the mess up. When I started this project and noted that the username keyboard on the camera didn't do spaces (and my username was two words), I tried to change the username. However, I now believe that I messed up because I did change the name on user pathway, but not in that unidentified folder?

To confound things further, really don't know how to figure out whether or not this desktop computer is networked and/or home grouped. Always thought I it, but now I'm not so sure.

I have literally stepped in now, so I will be short. Are you sure Guest account is enabled? It is by default disabled and you can't login with it.

How do I make sure that the Guest acct is enabled? I'm pretty sure that it is as I was able to give it a PW (didn't have one originally) and have no difficulty in logging in between Valued Customer (my admin acct and Guest accounts. Furthermore, when I went to my portable, I was able to wirelessly (via wifi) use the shared printer and within the control panel the portablePC (which was originally set up to mirror the desktop) was shown to be within the same (and only) homegroup with the desktop. So, if these are communicating wirelessly, damn what's screwing up the camera's wireless communication? I'm still thinking it is that computer username folder that could be lousing things up.

BTW, although I did try to change the computer username from Valued Customer to ValuedCustomer by just renaming users\valuedcustom-pc\valued customer to ...\...\valuedcustomer, I didn't change the folder because I wasn't aware of it at the time. Then when I saw a rather long tutorial on how to change the folder also, I gave up and just renamed valuedcustomer back to valued customer in users\valuedcustom-pc\...as it originally was.

It is enabled if you can login with it. But to make sure go into Control Panel - User Accounts - manage another - see Guest (if it says "Guest account is off" it is disabled).

The Guest acct is enabled and I can log into it. BTW, as the camerasync acct was also showing, but can't be opened, I deleted it.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, I'm not sure if it has been completely deleted as I've read somewhere that some kind of folder should also be deleted. But, then again, I deleted it by selecting the delete acct link within the control panel. Hopefully, the control panel's delete will do a complete job.

Delete C:\users\camerasync, it should be left.

You seem to be testing different things, using a shared printer doesn't mean you can access the shared folder.

So, go to the portable PC:
    - open Windows Explorer
    - expand Network (left pane)
    - select desktop PC
    - if asked enter guest account credentials (not any other account)
    - see if you can access the shared folder
    - if you can access, then right click - new - text document, close and hit save. See if it will save.
