Want To Print Wirelessly On Two Computers

The printer is an HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format e-All-in-One Printer series - E910. We have a Windows 8.1 laptop and a Windows 7 Home Premium tower.

I downloaded the software onto the Windows 7 PC, ran the software and was prompted by the printer to hit the WPS button. It found the network and successfully installed the printer.

Then I downloaded the HP software for Windows 8.1 onto the laptop and ran the installation file. I was once again prompted to press that WPS button, which made no sense to me. It could not connect to the network (although it did display the SSID) and the printer display then wanted me to manually enter the passphrase. It would not connect that way either. And when I went back to the W7 tower, the printer was no longer showing up in Devices and Printers.

    What did I do wrong?

After 5 plus days and zero responses I'll mark this as solved. I simply installed the printer on the network, picked one of the computers, downloaded the full install package from HP, and set it up on that PC. Once that was complete, on the other PC, I downloaded the HP printer (drivers only), for that OS.

Seems like in the 5 days and 266 views this topic has spent languishing, somebody on this forum should have been able to impart that information. Maybe the next poor slob in the same boat will be helped if he finds my solution.
