    reset "local area connection" adapter

    Hey,

I'm having trouble maintaining a stable internet connection. The icon in the taskbar would randomly display a problem with the connection. When I go to click on the "X" on the network map to resolve it, it would go through a bunch of steps and eventually end up resetting "local area connection" adapter. Most of the time this would work but sometimes the computer would say it couldn't even find the problem.

Below are the current settings I've set for the adapter, but the problem still occurs sporadically.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Create a manual System Restore point - System Restore
    Then run in elevated cmd:
    Code:
    netsh winsock reset

The problem persists. It seems to happen the most after a restart. I've also tried uninstalling the component in device manager, scanning for hardware changes and reinstalling it (as well as reinstalling the drivers).

p.s. we traded in our router for another make and model and the problem did not go away

Create a manual System Restore point - System Restore

Download and run as admin - Download Complete Internet Repair - MajorGeeks
    Select options:
    - Reset Internet Protocol
    - Repair Winsock
    - Renew Internet Connections
    - Reset Windows Firewall Configuration
