IE8 Font control I was looking at a website, noted below, where the font became extremely tiny. I know if you go into Internet Options-General-Accessibility, you can choose to disregard the suggested website font.
Is there a way to adjust the font after you disregard the website's? I see there is a way to change the style and color of the font, but not the size.
I think I remember something about the Windows font size being used, but if that is the case, should not IE have a way to adjust it?

You can change the IE text size by going to Page-Text Size-. If you wanted to change windows overall text size you could change the DPI scale in Control Panel-Display- | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Airbot 2.0 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Core i7 920 (D0) @ 4Ghz, *26c idle *65c full load on air Motherboard Asus P6X58D Premium - Sata 6Gb/s - USB 3.0 Memory 12GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator -CMD12GX3M6A1600C8 at 1600MHz Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 480 -Aftermaket Accelero Xtreme Plus cooler Sound Card ASUS Xonar D2X Monitor(s) Displays 1 LG 24" Flatron W2453V-PF 1 Samsung 24" P2450H both 2ms RT Screen Resolution 1920x1080@60hz Keyboard Logitech Wireless MK700 Mouse Logitech Wireless MK700 PSU Corsair HX1000W Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Cooling Case Fans *3 230mm, *1 140mm/CPU - *Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Hard Drives 1 OCZ Vertex2 180GB SSD

Ok, I did not notice that, probably because it was never up in IE7 for me. But there is more going on with this page. I can raise the text to largest and still not be able to read the "Hot Topics" box. If I ignore the suggested text size, I can read. It seems IE7 doesn't use such small text, or perhaps a different style is being used.
I don't suppose you know of a setting for the smallest text to be used? Maybe I will play with the text style to see if I can limit the downside as far as font size goes.
I suppose I need to learn how to use the magnifier feature!

Well, setting the text size in IE8 has no effect being on this site (sevenforums), at least for me. So I would think it's site specific. Yeah, you can always use the magnifier, LOL. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Airbot 2.0 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Core i7 920 (D0) @ 4Ghz, *26c idle *65c full load on air Motherboard Asus P6X58D Premium - Sata 6Gb/s - USB 3.0 Memory 12GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator -CMD12GX3M6A1600C8 at 1600MHz Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 480 -Aftermaket Accelero Xtreme Plus cooler Sound Card ASUS Xonar D2X Monitor(s) Displays 1 LG 24" Flatron W2453V-PF 1 Samsung 24" P2450H both 2ms RT Screen Resolution 1920x1080@60hz Keyboard Logitech Wireless MK700 Mouse Logitech Wireless MK700 PSU Corsair HX1000W Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Cooling Case Fans *3 230mm, *1 140mm/CPU - *Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Hard Drives 1 OCZ Vertex2 180GB SSD

I realize now, if I click on the compatibility view settings, I can read the page again. This would seem to indicate IE8 reads some Font designation a little differently. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Homebuilt OS Windows 7 x64 CPU i7-2600K Motherboard Asus P8Z77-v Pro Memory 8 G Graphics Card GTX 480 Sound Card Onboard Monitor(s) Displays LG W2753V Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Hard Drives Crucial M4 128 G SSD |

Thanks, I found some of that. The real problem is the text in question is unreadable because the characters aren't even characters. If I use compatibility mode on the site, I can read it.
It appears IE8 has made some changes to the way it handles some formatting code and the webmasters will have to catch up...
I have started watching the little broken page icon to see how many sites are not yet IE8 compatible. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Homebuilt OS Windows 7 x64 CPU i7-2600K Motherboard Asus P8Z77-v Pro Memory 8 G Graphics Card GTX 480 Sound Card Onboard Monitor(s) Displays LG W2753V Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Hard Drives Crucial M4 128 G SSD |

Font Size Problem in IE8 I had the same problem also, when the font size became extremely small when using IE8 in Windows 7. I was able to fix the problem for myself, but I cannot guarantee this will work for everyone.
I simply accessed the "Page" drop down menu, chose "Zoom", then I chose "100%".
This solved both the font size and display problems in IE8, where everything suddenly became very small.
In my case, perhaps my copy of IE8 simply got out of adjustment.
Good luck! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway NV 5468U OS Windows 7 Home Premium X64 CPU Intel Pentium T4400 Memory 4GB Monitor(s) Displays 15.6 Hard Drives 320 GB Storage |

IE8 Font Control If you are having the same problem in Firefox, you can reset your font size by
clicking "View", move your pointer to "Zoom" and click "Reset".
You may also want to check your display setting in the "Control Panel",
and choose "Appearance and Personalization", go to "Display" and click,
"Make text and other items larger or smaller". Also, don't forget to then
click "apply" to save your settings. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway NV 5468U OS Windows 7 Home Premium X64 CPU Intel Pentium T4400 Memory 4GB Monitor(s) Displays 15.6 Hard Drives 320 GB Storage IE8 Font control problems?
