Yeah probably all of the activation stuff is seeing the 7 connection instead of the bridge stuff. Does chrome have the same problem? Try setting a static address for the xp machine.

Ok so I allowed XP to fully update automatically overnight. I got a newer ver of IE which now connects to the internet. The Activation still wouldnt work so I called it in over the phone and its activated. The Java installer still wouldn't connect to their download server but that may be because they no longer support XP so i downloaded their offline installer and got it all set up. Added chrome, also works and I've been doing all this through a remote connection upstairs to top it off so I think its pretty much set now.
Thanks for the help. I might still be deciding between ICS or bridge if I were on my own. Take it easy, prob wont be my last time on the sevenforums.
