Using Onedrive on Windows 7 problem

I have Onedrive installed on my Win 7 Desktop as well as my Win 7 Laptop and am brand new to Onedrive.

I put two folders and six files in the Onedrive folder on the Desktop but they do not show up in the Onedrive folder on the Laptop. Both machines are signed in to my Microsoft account and I believe the sharing is set up correctly. Both machines can see each other on the network.

Will someone give me hand in sorting out the problem. It may well be I can't do what I think I can.

    Thank you.

Did you tick "Let me use OneDrive to fetch any of my files on this PC" option on both PCs? (right click OneDrive icon in notification area - Settings)

Seeing each other in the network doesn't mean anything while using OneDrive. Internet connection to OneDrive servers do, and OneDrive should be running on both PCs.

    Thank you.

I don't have a Onedrive icon in the notification area on either computer. Is that strange?

It may be because it is not running.

    Run %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive
Then start OneDrive.exe on both PCs see if the icon will show

If it does, also tick start with Windows (if you want that) in Settings, or do as I do, send a shortcut to desktop and only start when you want to sync.

Yes, it is running. At least it shows up a so in Task Manager but still no icon in the notification area. Go figure!

    Thanks again.

Thank you, but I am quite familiar with the workings of the notification area.
