Windows 7: Network and Sharing Center doesn't detect networks.

Network and Sharing Center doesn't detect networks.

I connect as usual to my WiFi, and my connection is solid, browser works, everything connected as per usual.

Except for one thing.

My computer doesn't want to admit that it is connected. See images below.

I've tried everything, restarting the adapter, disabling all adapters except for the wireless, turned off all VPN/Network related programs, nothing works. This issue doesn't prevent me from doing most things related to a network, except for making a homegroup. Which happens to be what I want to do.

Any help? Thanks in advance.

If both Avira and AVG are antivirus, uninstall one of them. If one of them is firewall only, try disabling it to see if network awareness is fixed.

Actually, this problem was existent before I installed AVG, and I've turned off Avira before to see, not my A/Vs.

This is not an issue with the icon, this is an issue with the Network Location Awareness. Although that guide sure will come in handy.

Activated all of the services listed that weren't already started. No change. Will try safe mode soon.

After Safe Mode checking, try running as admin - Download Complete Internet Repair - MajorGeeks
Select options: 1/2/3/4 and Reset Windows Firewall (just in case)

Create a manual System restore point before though - System Restore
