wired internet speed is much slower then wifi -lenovo thinkpad

    i have Lenovo thinkpad e531 x64 win 8

I just got new speed internet and when I connect my computer using ethernet it's signifiantly slower than wireless on the same laptop.

On my other laptop the wired produces very fast results (faster than wifi) so the problem is my laptopr's ethernet connection.

    what can i do?

My ISP provider came with his working laptop, pluging in my ethernet cable in his laptop and the internet speed it was 300mb/s.
and on my laptop is 17 mb/s....

If you have already checked the cable with another PC then check in Device Manager (devmgmt.msc) adapter properties - advanced - check the values here.

Yes, network adapter properties - advanced tab. Does that come up empty?

alinox, you need to right click the line that says "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller". I think you just clicked on the "Network Adapters" line.

Also, go to Control Panel / Network and Sharing Centre. On that page, look in the section "View you active networks" and you should see "Connections" with LAN and/or wifi or similar in blue text. Click on what is there to see the connection speed and details. Report back what you see.
