Home Network Broken after BSOD
2 PCs running Windows 7, wired connections.
Home network was working fine. Same Workgroup. In Homegroup, but settings say Homegroup isn't used.
Things worked fine.
Last week, PC2 had a BSOD. Since then, both computers only see themselves in the network.
File Sharing is on. There are shared folders. Network discovery is on. I made no changes. Just the BSOD.
Can't see other pc in file explorer.
The only place where the pcs will show the other one is in Network and Sharing Center\See full map.
When I booted PC2 in Safe Mode with Networking, it did show PC1 in the explorer (though, not itself).
In Network and Sharing Center, PC1 connects to "Network 5", while PC2 shows "Network 3"
IP addresses are different. one ends in .2, the other ends in .169.
I have tried many things. no progress.
flushing the dns, restarting, power-cycling modem/router, attempting to disconnect/reconnect the network/homegroup. PC2 did not have a restore point available.
I'm out of ideas.
Please help.
