    Buying Wireless for Desktop

Got the router in my house. Son lives with me and we are about to build a computer. I have done this before so i know how to build. But was wondering about best way to add wireless to the desktop. I mean the signal dies off in the back part of the house where the desktop will be. (currently he uses laptop) So what can i do to fix that as far as good wireless parts for a computer. What about a range extender? Are those worth the investment.

Get a good Linksys wireless PCI card.

    Amazon.com: pci wireless card linksys

I would just run a ethernet cable to the PC, if possible.

Don't overlook using Powerline adapters. Two devices plugged into AC outlets and using the house wiring as a Ethernet connection. You get full Ethernet performance.

I've used them several times with very good success. $35 to $60 for two depending on brand.
