Repair default gateway every 5 min is getting old

I have nforce drivers that are up to date and I have to keep repairing my default gateway every 5 minutes! This is getting irritating

Have you tried disabling IPv6?

Try using DHCP if applicaple, and while on DHCP, do a "diagnose" and choose reset adapter. Then use your static IPs again

go to nvidias site and grab your nforce drivers there, do not use Windows 7 default as you will come up with this error when using a static ip for a Windows 7 machine on the lan. IPv6 didnt and wasnt a fix for this particular issue, just the right drivers from nvidia

Have a search around on the forums

Installing the Nvidia 15.23 did not stop the IPv6 error problem from occuring. I still needed to uncheck it in network properties.

ok, confused here chev, are we talking about a gateway error, or an IPv6 error which is probly seen in the event viewer.... ??

More than likely, unless your router uses IPv6, your not going to use it and you WILL see the errors(then of course you HAVE to uncheck that if the errors bother you), but as far as the "gateway" problem... the nvidia drivers should have fixed that for you. Just for my info, are you trying to network your lan USING IPv6?

thread was labeled gateway error, somehow we've gotten to IPv6 error, which unless you DO have an IPv6 enabled router and ARE trying to setup the lan using IPv6... then.... we can go farther into that, but unless that...

[edit] tired eyes, seen that you didnt start the thread chev, but anyways, lol

Open an elevated command prompt and type
ipconfig /flushdns
Also, uninstall and reinstall the network driver.

I'm running windows 7 (64bit) on EVGA 680i mobo. I did a driver rollback and I think I'm running the MS drivers now. 1.0.1.211 according to the driver properties tab under my network interfaces in device manager. Not sure what other info you guys would need to help me out with this problem.

One note for my colleagues.

I keep seeing people randomly advising to uncheck IPv6 when ever there are networking troubles.

Be aware that the new "Home network" of Windows 7 can not work without IPv6.

When you use the old way of sharing, you can do without it, but "home network" needs it.

I have IPv6 checked on all comps, my router doesn't use IPv6, and my network works just fine.

And I haven't seen one instance yet, where unchecking IPv6 solved any problem.

If you know of such an instance please show me.

Because if this is really the cause of network problems, MS has a real big problem on their hands, once Windows 7 hits the stores.
