Want pc on lan but not on net

I have windows 7 and vista on a lan behind NAT. I want to get a third computer probably win 8 for photo/videoediting only. It will only programs necessary to photo/video editing

So I do not want any AV/Antispyware etc using resources. I want to be able to copy files to the win 7/vista for emailing them. But do not want my photo computer accessible to the net as it will not have AV.I also want the photo computer safe from any malware that may access the lan. Unlikely but possible

Could i have an email on the lan only to email from the photo pc to the others. Or what is the best way. would i need a DMZ

I definitely wouldn't use email to transfer data. Email encodes to 7bit at a overhead of, going by memory, 33%, making for much larger and slower transfers. Simply turn on file sharing, use passworded users accounts, and transfer files through the network listing in the file managers. You can even set up a sync prog such as SyncBack Free to do it automatically, either on demand or by schedule.

And/or you could use a lightweight AM such as Panda, which is easy on resources, and even turn it on only as the need arises.
