no internet after Windows xp reinstall

Are you attempting to visit the Windows Update website for XP patches?

Where were you attempting to surf to while using IE 6.1 on XP?

I downloaded the fire fox browser from another computer and installed it on the pc with the problem.
I can now connect to the internet with no problems.

Use Firefox or Chrome or PaleMoon or one of the other browser alternatives.

Please do post the results of pinging Google. Should look like this if it works:
