Download speed halved

Hello all of the windows 7 forums ^^ I am experiencing a problem that i cant seem to resolve with windows 7. Back in vista, i had an average download speed of 150-180 kps but now im lucky to get 80 kps on 7? Is there something wierd? I had updated fully on windows update.
Information:
Ethernet connection
At&t ISP
Acer Aspire x1300

P.S. how come my download speed is so low even in Vista when speed test said .74 mps?

Maybe something else on your pc or entire network is using bandwidth as you do the test.

Open a command prompt and type

netstat -abo

then hit enter to see what's going on. Or also use Wireshark.

When I had a problem similar to your's, it wasn't anything wrong with my computer, my ISP (Cox Cable) had downgraded my service, and I ended up having to pay more for what I originally had.
