Temporary internet files and cookies in IE when I only use Google

    Hello :),

Something that is been baffling me for a while now,

When I use CCleaner to clean my PC there are always Temporary Internet Files and Cookies found under Internet Explorer.
I only ever use Google Chrome, never EI, how is this possible ?

    Cheers,
    Thelma

    Hi Thelma,
Do you mean the >> IE5 << temp files.
If you do, there a throwback to the old days and are NOT actually internet explorer files, as for the cookies.
    Have you turned IE off?,
Control panel >> progrs & features >> features(top left) takes a minute or so to load , UNcheck IE11. reboot required

Thanks, Roy:),for answering my query !

I am very dyslectic and don't see it when I turn things round . I am sort of blind for it. Use Grammary, which is a life saver.:) Anak, "Steve", made me aware of that !

    Yes, I mean Internet Explorer.
Never use it, can't stand it and jet these Temp files and cookies are every time appearing in my "stuff to erase" in Ccleaner.
I had a look in "programmes and Features" I don't have Internet Explorer listed there. Now this is a sort of inherited laptop and there is a lot of old stuff of the last owner on it. I have many "Microsoft office" features listed there. Can that have to do with it ?
Or, is Google using Internet Explorer to get on the Internet ?

    Cheers,
    Thelma.

PS Sergeant Pepper was a very important LP in the Beat/Rock Music history !

PSPS I am gonna do a clean install in the nearby future. I am waiting to be in a situation where I can use an Ethernet connection.

    Hi Thelma,
You have to click on FEATURES (top left), on the prog & features page it opens up a smaller window and a version of IE WILL be there, (It might not be 11 could 8,9,10), but uncheck whichever it is.
