Windows 7: Internet connection is acting funny

Starting yesterday or today sometime, my internet connection has been acting funny. I click on links, and sometimes I get a "This page cannot be displayed" message, and other times it loads really slowly, and I get a version of the page without any images. Some sites are just fine.
The problem exists in both Chrome and Firefox.
Any thoughts?

Yeah. Are you on a router with other users using very high uploads or uploading all the time? Or even uploading from your computer at the same time?

When upload is saturated, that leaves download with nothing. Download needs uploading too to work. While a connection is downloading, it constantly uploads ack packets to tell the server, "Hey look - everything is great - please keep sending data."

If you can't upload well while downloading, the downloading is going to greatly suffer.

If this describes your situation, you can place 3rd party software on machines to limit upload bandwidth so the line never becomes saturated - leaving downloading working well for good.

No, I am not downloading anything. I am on a home network, but at the moment, I am the only one using it. I looked in task manager at the network utilization, but it is staying around 0-1%.

If you're sure that you are not saturating your connection to ISP in any way...then possibly it is something wrong on their end.

Turn off the router and/or cable or dsl modem for at least 10 seconds too, to test. Also, if there is a firmware update for the router, they're always good even if it doesn't fix the problem.

Okay, I will post back in a few days or if I notice the problem went away.

It was most certainly an ISP issue. It cleared itself up yesterday or today sometime.
