No Internet with VPN (already unchecked "use default gateway")

Server: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Client: Windows 10 Home 64 bit

I'm trying to set up a VPN server at home that I can connect to. I followed the following tutorial to set on up directly on windows:
How to Create a VPN Server on Your Windows Computer Without Installing Any Software

I followed the instructions and I was able to "connect" to the VPN server from my windows 10 computer; however, I had no internet connection on the VPN. I've spent hours searching on google and have followed the following suggestions:

uncheck "use default gateway on remote network" on the client computer.

check "Respond to Ping on Internet Port" on my router.

Unchecking ipv6 under the networking components tab for both the client and server.

Specifying ip addresses for ipv4 on the server.

None of these have worked. I could really use some help here. Please let me know what information you need to better figure my problem out.

Thank you.

Have you tried any vpn service? There is no need to go into windows settings, it's more efficient to use vpn software, click for info . U can find here a lot of information about any vpn service and compare them.

Reading from a Geek is mostly for Power user &or Geek.
As it did mentioned on the limitations on this VPN, as also depend on the ISP, if login to your own network.

What i mean as for Power user &or Geek, there is setting for the router on using IP Address.
Connection to your broadband wifi, if you connect by wireless, each devices (mobile handset) have its own IP Address.
So, the question to you is, do you know how to set the IP Address on the devices.
For me, my answer is NO. As i do consider as Power user, but short of network system, which is a must to understand more.

I did have subscribe to VPN, but did encountered to surf to my own HDD Server as it is set off by the ISP.
Although this VPN is related to my ISP, that is the reason for me to subscribe.

I did set up my own HDD Server on my own router.
This is very straight forward, as i connect via LAN cable from the router port.
Just open my windows explorer and click on the network, the HDD server is available.

I fixed the problem. The purpose of creating my own vpn was so I could access geo blocked content. I had already paid for a vpn service but all of it's US IP's had been blocked by the sites I wanted you use. Making my own vpn server guaranteed I wouldn't be using a blocked ip address.

As for how I fixed it, I specified the dns server address I wanted to use in the vpn connection settings (client side). Also, I specified the local ip addresses that could be assigned to incoming connections (server side). I had already tried the latter approach, but I tweaked the settings to guarantee my addresses couldn't possibly be taken on the VPN's lan (192.168.1.100-120).

Thanks for the replies.
