Well, that fixed the Node Type, but it didn't resolve the issue w/ the network, although I am now being passed an IPv6 address. I am completely unknowledgeable about IPv6. Shouldn't that be enough to gain network access?

I was reading this blog entry and wondering if having connected to the Verizon DSL network, when I moved into this new place, had a similar effect on my laptop.

When I contacted TWC support regarding this issue, they mentioned that the Technicolor modem was handing out IPv6 addresses, b/c something on the network was requesting them. I don't recall ever having seen the TWC modem hand out IPv6 addresses, so it got me thinking that maybe something the Verizon DSL network was doing was causing this problem. When I first moved here a couple of weeks ago, the Verizon DSL connection was pre-existing in this home. I hadn't yet transferred over the TWC service. so I was using the Verizon DSL as my Internet connection. Once the TWC service was transferred to this new home, I switched over to it from the Verizon DSL. That's when the problem began. The article I'd linked in my last post detailed a problem switching from one network to another. Do you think that moving from the Verizon DSL network to the TWC network might be the culprit?

So, this issue was finally resolved. I took many other steps after the last posts in this thread. If anyone has a similar issue, they can find out what else I did to troubleshoot this here: [SOLVED] Identifying...([network name]) No Internet Access - Page 2 - Tech Support Forum

Ultimately, changing the security type on the connection from AES to TKIP/AES seemed to, at least partially, resolve the issue. I wouldn't have thought this would work, since I'd previously removed all security from the network, and I was still unable to connect, but this seemed to do the trick. I'm wondering if it was some combination of the IPv6 hot fixes (plus other attempts to resolve the issue) and the change in security settings that finally rectified this problem. Either way, it's all good now.

Thank you to everyone that offered suggestions and possibly solutions. I tremendously appreciate your efforts!
