Got internet fine through cable, and the other laptop picks up wireless fine so it's not the external bits. Have restarted router etc, the wireless switch is set to "on." Went to Dell's site and then google looking for
drivers; apparently have the latest drivers.
It can see nearby networks, just can't connect to them (window shot and connection log attached).
Inspiron 1545 has a Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card from Broadcom. I got this Inspiron last week, when it had Vista Home Premium. Same problem under Vista, but didn't put in the time to fix it then because of being about to change to Windows 7 anyway. Got Windows 7 upgrade DVD from Dell, upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium, and it still doesn't work.
Is there some sort of fix anyone can recommend for Windows 7?
thanks...
