Help with accessing a USB HDD on a TP LINK Archer C9 router please

Recently I upgraded the OS on my desktop from XP to Win 7. With XP I had no problem accessing by LAN cable the USB HDD attached to an Archer C9 dual band router. Under Win 7 I don't seem to able to make It work, I am not very network savvy to say the least. I found thread 82659 on the TP LINK dual band forum which to me seems relevant but I don't get how the connection between the shared folder and the server is set up, even if that is what am missing. I want to be able to access all the folders/files on the C9 USB HDD. This HDD is shared successfully with all my other devices over wifi.

I some kind soul could connect the dots for me or show the way it will be much appreciated.
