Remote Desktop into a Corporate Network

We recently purchased a new PC with Windows 7. My wife works from home 2 days a week, and for the life of me, I cannot get the Windows 7 PC to connect to her work PC via RDC. It works just fine on her old machine, running XP Pro. I currently have the Firewall turned OFF, and also have the Firewall on my Belkin router turned off. Where do I start? Thanks

First off please turn your firewall back on. What is the machine you are trying to connect? It would need to be XP SP3 or Vista SP1. These updates include RDP 6.1 which is compatable with w7. I think the way it goes is older versions can connect with new versions but newer versions can not connect to older versions of RDP.

I can't find any pre SP2 systems on our network to test. Just a thought...

Thanks Ultraplanet. The Firewall is back on. I didn't leave it off for very long. I will check in the morning and see what the Office PC is running.

    *bump*

I've got the same issue, I can RDC from my work PC (Windows XP SP3) to my home PC (Windows 7 Ultimate 64) no problem.

When i try and go the other way, i cannot connect. Booting up my Vista laptop i can connect no problem first time.

Any ideas what the difference is?

Sorry it took so long to reply - Been crazy.
Here is a little more detail on the problem:
They have been using Caymas to "remote" into their desktops. Caymas has gone out of business, so they are looking at using the RDC that comes with Windows XP. Up until a few days ago, the new machine would not connect either way. From what I understand, XP has to be running SP3 in order for the RDC to work.

Her company has to approve the upgrade to SP3 before she can apply it. In the meantime, it was discovered that if you install FireFox 2.0 it will connect using the Caymas software. Go Figure.
