    streaming video constantly buffering


    lately Ive found that streaming video such as (but not limited to) youtube constantly buffers ever 2 seconds or so. Is there a setting I need to change?

    You could try a couple of the tips given here .... don't mess with the registry tho'.

    Yes, I know you're using Win 7 and this info is for XP, but take a look anyway.

    I see one of the solutions is to increase virtual memory. I have 4gb of phsyical memory and a static pagefile of 6133gb sitting on a wd raptor 36gb which spins at 10,000rpm. Is that amount right for me?

    Eliminate Long Load Times and Excessive Buffering

    Most players will allow you to alter their buffer settings.Below is an how to change buffer setting in Media Player.

    You can change the default buffer settings in Windows Media Player, use instructions below:
    1.Start Windows Media Player
    2.Click the View
    3.Click Options
    4.On the Advanced tab, click Streaming Media(Windows Media)
    5.Click Change to alter the buffer settings.

    Its currently set to 5 seconds.

    What type of internet connection do you have and did you tell the player that when you first started the player? Have you checked your download speed lately?

    Maybe try putting in your connection speed manually in the same area mentioned before.
