    So the network card would connect to the WLAN but would not allow you to connect to a Homegroups LAN. Very strange although updating hardware has been known to fix all sorts of problems so I'm not too surprized.

    That particular network card must have been having problems resolving the IPv6 protocol, without that working you can't set up a Homegroup. That is why I wanted to see the ipconfig info, just to confirm that IPv6 address was being resolved by the problem machine.

    Thanks for reporting back in Kainzo.

    My solution was
    1 make sure your computer dont have Same Login Password on your computers
    (dont know if this is nessary with Win 7 it helped in the past with Vista and previous Windows versions)
    if you do adda extra digit to the 2nd and 3rd ETC.. computers

    2 I needed to share with Everyone and Share with Homegroup as well
    for folders to be accessible on all computers

    Hello,
    I just had this problem and i went through every possible solution to fix it. It ended up with me compairing every setting on my computers and going through drivers, rename/reboots and whatnot.
    Now, I finally did get it to work. And in my case the problem was the Workgroup (?) on one of my computers. Idk if The Name was problematic ("M-ZONE", if perhaps the "-" caused problems) or if it just worked because i changed the name / caused an update.
    Anyhow i went into Start > Control Panel > System and under " Settings for computername, domain and workgroup" i pressed Change Settings and then Change. Now under workgroup i made sure all computers on the network used MSHOME and after a restart it worked perfectly for the first time in weeks.
    I Hope this can be of any help for someone else! Thank you, and good bye.

    I think someone said it before. All you have to do is make sure that both computers have the same time zones and sync the date and time with the internet.
    Worked for me.

    @andrew129260

    I'm aware of that. but this thread is the first thing that pops of when I googled the problem, so I figured if I posted the solution at the end It will be helpful to one person at least.
