WLAN speed?

Hi all

Before I installed Windows 7, I was running XP and I had a wireless LAN utility that allowed me to see real time WLAN speed.

Now the only info I can see is that my wireless link runs at 54Mb/s (given it's a draft-n network, it should run faster...) but I would like to be able to see what speed I am achieving. Does Windows 7 provide a utility, or is there a recommended app?

Thanks
John

Yes. There are plenty of assorted gadgets that can do this. Right click your desktop for gadgets and then follow the link to get more gadgets online.

Here's another.
Rainmeter is cool too.

Gadget compatibility?

I found "Wireless Network MeterV3" which looks exactly what I want but says it is for Vista. What confidence can I have that it will run under Windows 7 (64 bit)?

Also, (being a little paranoid) are we sure these gadgets are not hiding malware? eg you can't download (only install directly) so little chance to scan before installing...

Thanks!
