Downloading is very slow

Hey! I just recently installed Windows 7 (within the last hour) and one thing I noticed was that my downloading speed for games has decreased. Everything I have downloaded form the internet (files, etc.) downloads at a reasonable rate but right now I'm installing WoW and some games off of Steam, and they are downloading a lot slower than they normally did.

Is there an option to some how speed up my downloads?

WoW is downloading between 250-400 kb/s, Empire: Total War is downloading at ~250kb/s and TF2 is downloading at 600-700kb/s.

You can check your line speed with this tool ( Speed Test - dslreports.com ). If that turns out to be OK, it is probably a server problem. I would think a lot of people do the same as you installing Windows 7 and the servers are overwhelmed.
