Windows 7 firewall

Hello,

I m upgraded my pc to windows 7 from xp. In windows xp i used internet security versions of many antivirus software that also provided me with firewall. Now in windows 7 i m using microsoft security essentials virus definations and till now i m not infected. But i dont want all programmes to permit access to internet , previous firewall softwares of widows xp i used to get a notification message that "Would you like to allow this software access internet ? " or something like that from there i was able to make a decision. I wanna know that is it possible in windows 7 default firewall to get interactive firewall configuration which will work upon user's input.

Thanks

To get the same sort of response with Windows firewall, you can add in Windows 7 Firewall Control : Sphinx Software which uses the Windows firewall security platform. That is the easiest way.

There are rules you can set up in the Windows firewall also, if you feel comfortable doing that, or you can get a third party firewall like Comodo (free). Comodo works nicely with Windows 7.
