limited connectivity

first off: ive already looked through the entire network & internet forum and tried all solutions that matched my symptoms and none of them have worked so far.

im using an hp pavilion tx1000 laptop and using

i had wifi access before but after i was at my parents house for a week and had tried to access their internet through an ethernet cable (which was unsuccessful) i have since returned to my house and no longer have access to the internet through my wireless router. im using a 2wire connection and already have a desktop and a laptop both using windows xp home connected (1 with ethernet, and the other through wifi) and both work fine but my windows 7 computer keeps waying that connecting is taking longer than usual and then tells me that the connection was unsuccessful and i have limited connectivity. in the network and sharing center it has the network acess type as local only. any help is appreciated. ty

Reset the modem and router (if you have a router) Unplug the modem for about 20 seconds or so (While your computer is off) Unplug the router. plug the modem back in. Wait for lights to cycle through, until you see the "activity" or connectivity lights blinking... plug the router back in, wait for it to cycle. turn on your computer.

Please help!!

I'm getting frustrated with my new Toshiba R705 because the internet is really slow and loses connection frequently. I turned off firewall and still had the same problem. Other computers in the house using wireless work fine. How did you fix this?? please e-mail [REMOVED]

Resolved

I had a similar issue where a laptop in the office would not connect properly to the wireless AP - a reboot of the AP appears to fix the problem.

Regarding the Virtual Miniport, you should be able to disable that in Adapter Settings if it is not used/unwanted.
