| | Windows Firewall - Public Network Connected - Help! I have been running Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 RC and now Pro Retail. I had this problem a while ago I think on Vista but couldn't solve it so I did a re-install. Basically I only noticed it 3 weeks ago. When all adapters switched off Windows Firewall indicates it connected to a public network and thus initiated the Public profile and thus blocks quite a lot of my progs/functionality including WM sync with my winmo phone. With WiFI connected it says Home netwrok connected and all is fine. The problem therefore is when my wifi is off or I am away not on a netwrok I am going to have to dissable the firewall. I have checked my ipconfig /all and there is no visiable "unidentified network" - I have looked for days on this forum in via goolde but do not avail. re-installed all adpaters etc, uninstalled bonjour sevice etc etc. HELP!!!!!!!!!!
