transfering files to windows xp very slow

My main computer runs windows 7 and I have an htpc running windows xp. While on my windows 7 computer I can transfer files from the xp machine at around 40MB/s but transfering too the htpc only gets up to 22MB/s. When I'm on my htpc I can transfer from the windows 7 machine at around 40MB/s.

Can anyone help me out? I don't understand why transfering to the htpc while on 7 is so slow.
