Network Back Up and Homegroup
I have upgraded 3 computers to Windows 7 - desktop w/ external HD; XPS laptop (both 32bit) and an HP laptop 64 bit. All were Vista previously. I used OneCare to back up the notebooks to the HD on the desktop. MS abandoned OneCare and replaced w/ MSE, which I have installed.
Neither notebook can 'see' the HD on the desktop as a target for Backup. Have done a live chat w/ MS support and they tried to HACK my desktop in an attempt to make it work - which it did not. Have a standard LINKSYS WRT54G wireless.
With OneCare on Vista this activity - along with 'management' of the 3 computers was easy an seamless; not so now. So far seen no advantage to Windows 7, including boot time.
Also the HP refuses to join the HOMEGROUP.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
