Network and Sharing Center will not load

    Hi,

In Control Panel, when I click Network & Sharing Center, it freezes and does not recover. I am logged in as Administrator. I have no Internet connection; the taskbar icon for Wireless is greyed out.

    Hi and welcome

Is this a new install? was it a clean install or upgrade?

    Hi,

Installed about 2 weeks ago, but has not been a problem since. I did a dskchk from command prompt, then a disk check from Computer Management, and it worked. Took forever though, so I cancelled at 10% and it still worked. ha. **** Windows.

    Hi again,

No - this only fixes the problem SOMETIMES. Hover on the wireless icon shows no text (it should), when it doesn't work. This is also when Explorer crashes whenever I access Network and Sharing Center.

Seriously fed up with Windows 7. WTF is this?

    Hi,
Did you ever solve this? I am having the same problem - can't get into the network & sharing centre to change wireless connection.... everything crashes...

I think you want to try the dskchk. This sort of stopped being a problem after a while, so it must have been related to something I was doing at the time.

Seriously though, your best bet is buy a Mac, unless it's a work computer and they won't let you update, in which case just murder all the IT guys instead.

Thanks to all for your suggestions... lol Genie - yes I am regretting not getting a mac now! I have always used PCs so went for one thinking it would be easier for me but now I'm wondering! I ended up putting in the installation disk and doing a repair which seems to have done the trick....until next time!! Thanks again for your help :)
