Windows 7 misreads NIC MAC addresses?

I have set my PC to have a fixed IP address on my LAN. I noticed that
it had picked up a different one.

In short, I think Win7 may have issues with reading MAC addresses of
NIC cards. It is reported correctly in XP, but I have seen *three*
variations of it under Win7 in the past 30 mins - each time a couplet
(2 characters between colons) was replaced by a 00 (double zero).

I wonder if some of you could check this out (at a command prompt
    "ipconfig /all").

Currently, Win 7 sees my MAC as 00-50-FC-72-00-00; whereas it should be 00:50:FC:72:4E:BC.

    TIA

Sounds more like a driver is crapping things up.
Mine MAC address is fine in all accounts.
