We've seen this issue a lot, and there are numerous possible causes. Take a look

Off the top of my head, I know file sharing between Windows 7 and XP requires the following steps (at least):
1. Host computer must have a
different computer name than the Target computer
2. Host computer must have an
Admin user account with the
same name and
same password as the Target computer
3. Both computers must belong to the
same workgroup
4. Advanced sharing settings on Windows 7 should look like
this, with something similar on XP;
[you have the option of trying it without 128-bit encryption, but be warned that your remote desktop connection may be made vulnerable by doing so]
There may be some other things I've left out, but reading the links I posted above will hopefully clear that up. Give it a try and let me know how it goes...
