At this point I would have to advise you to completely uninstall Eset for now. There have been so many problems with Anti virus programs lately. None of them seem to be working correctly.

Sharing should always be set up before installing Anti virus programs, that way you will know it they are causing you problems with sharing after you install them.

    • Try Chev's suggestion, I've heard of this working too (which is why I suggested to disable it). I'd reboot and see if having no anti-virus fixes it, just to 100% that the AV 'is' the issue. Then get my AV installed again asap.

    • Are the PC's in the same workgroup? (I think they need to be)

    • Are the PC's the same name (this would kill it)

    • Are the other PC's in your network hibernating or turned off?

    • Make sure you have no other adapters set to 'public' (just disable them for now)

    • Also open up services.msc (from RUN) and ensure that the following services are running and set to Automatic.
      - Computer Browser
      - Server (if it exists)
      - Workstation
      - Event Viewer (to find problems)

    • Attached is my network sharing checklist. I wrote this for sharing, not Homegroup; but I figure it can't hurt.

    • I'm pretty much out of ideas mate, I suppose you could also try leaving homegroup on all PC's, disabling IPv6 from the TCP/IP properties and re-enabling IPv6 then setting up your homegroup again.

    • One last thought. - You are definite that it's totally removing the homegroup and not just 'not finding' the homegroup members?
      i.e. this still occurs after:
      REBOOT,
Using windows explorer navigate to another homegroup PC \\YourOtherPC\share

@Chev - Thanks for jumping in mate, I'm almost out of ideas
(might have to convince the wife that I need another copy of win7 so I can test homegroup more thoroughly )
