i have the same problem i am using an ad-hoc network between my file 'server' and laptop. I use ICS (internet connection sharing) on a dummy dial-up connection to trick the 'server' to run as a DHCP and a bridged Ethernet connection to my desktop PC. I find I have to disconnect from the network on both the 'server' (which requires using remote desktop on my desktop PC, i do not want to have to do this) and the laptop then reestablishing the network on the 'server' followed by the laptop
is there a way to allow me to disconnect and reconnect without turning the whole network off then on

-Ethernet- Network Bridge -Wireless (Ad-hoc)-)))))-Wireless (Ad-hoc)-
that should give you an idea of the network layout
i will not disable the network bridge (tried it same problem) or use a router as i shouldn't need one for a LAN (for those who never networked before vista/7 a LAN is a network does not require the internet to function, it is a simple computer to computer/device network, NO INTERNET!!) also i am using WPA2 Personal and i would like this to remain a secure network thus the no internet on this network
P.S.
i need to disconnect/reconnect to this ad-hoc network as i have a separate internet enabled network and I'd like to keep network separation if possible
