what browser are you using?
this normally is a browser generated popup or overlayed warning message, if you continue on and enter the username and password it should let you in, it shouldn't stop you. the netgear usually defaults to admin for the username and either a blank, empty password field or the word password itself. i believe the message may be related to security 'improvements' in ie7 regarding basic authentication, ie7 now warns you...
i do not get that in firefox 3.6b6 or in ie8 when connecting to my netgear.
This sounds like a message from the Web Browser, not the router. The browser doesn't realise that the IP address is an internal private address on your own network and the server it is referring to is actually your router.
It has nothing to do with your wireless security, so I wouldn't worry about it
I had this message when trying a couple of forume websites but if you dont fill any details in and keep closing by the red X you will be able to log in normally ..it takes 3-4 tries but it will keep coming back and you have to do it again and again ..I dont have a clue why .
