How to find if your pppoe or static ip?

I am trying to install a belkin router. In the 5th step it asks me my ISP here are the selections. Static IP, Dynamic IP, PPoE. How do I find out what mine is. I clicked on static IP and entered the IP, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS numbers, and still it keeps saying my information is wrong? How do i find out what mine is?

What about Automatic Configuration - DHCP?

It states that for:
PPPoE - Commonly used for DSL
Static IP - Work/ business class ISP. Ask your ISP for details.

The default is Dynamic IP.
This contacts the ISP's DHCP server and queries for an ip address. It is then issued to you.
You should not have to set up anything on your side in regards to that.
