    Need help with wireless adaptor

Hi, I just bought a linksys compact wireless-g USB adaptor with speedbooster and tried to get it to work on windows 7....no luck...

Am I missing something? It's picking up networks, it's just not letting me connect to the networks after I put my password in.

Are you new to setting up a wireless adapter? Is this a USB or a computer PCI/E card? Do you have a wireless access point or a wireless router? The wireless networks your card is finding, were they setup by you?

    It's USB.

Yes, I have a wireless router... and I know it works because I'm using it now. The network was set up by verizon.

So you definitely know the Preshared key or password to the Wireless Router? You may need visit the Linksys website to see if they have a more current driver for Vista. Install that driver in compatibility mode for Vista.

You are using a different computer to connect to this forum, correct? Download the driver from this computer, put it on a CD or USB drive. Copy the driver to your problem computer. Right click on the setup.exe file or drivername.exe file and click properties. Enable compatibility mode and select "Windows Vista". Click apply or OK. Run the driver install.

wguimb mentioned above that you need to "right-click" on the software .exe to select compatibility mode.
