Internet keeps shutting down.

Hey guys, not sure if this thread is posted in the right place, if not, sorry about that.
I have a pretty new computer with Windows 7 64 installed, most days it works flawlessly but some days it keeps disconnecting my internet, several times per hour in fact. I get a yellow triangle on my network icon. Righclick and choosing *fix the problem* solves the issue for a few minutes / sometimes hours. I have tried starting all my programs as administrator, not yet tried disabling UAC though, since i kind of like that feature.

I'm on my way to the stores now to perhaps try another networkcard, using the built-in right now.

Not sure what information would be usefull for anyone whom might have an idea how to fix this, i hope i can get some help with this since it's driving me nuts.

There are a huge number of threads on the same subject already, have a browse through the forums or do a search for 'connection' and see how many results flood in...

the yellow triangle means your device has a conflicting I/O and to cure it I would experiment with drivers , what is the exact name and model and driver version for your network card ?

UAC will not be affecting your network connection. << (IT CAN DOH ! )

It's the built-in networkcard on my MB, MSI P55-CD53, and from what i can tell in device manager, it's called Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller, the version of drivers are called; 7.10.1117.2009 - and windows states they are the newest ones.

You are right, also saw i posted this in the wrong section, as i suspected
Most of those threads seem to be about wireless and routers though, i'm using none of that. Will search through them again though and see if i can find a sollution.

Windows 7 - Vista

Hi -

I'd like to get further info on the NIC. Please download the attached zip file, extract the EXE file to Desktop; RIGHT-click on the EXE file, select "Run as Administrator"

2 Notepads will open - 1 behind the other. Save both as text files, zip them up and attach to your next post.

Regards. . .

Turned off UAC and right now it's working, might just be pure luck though.

Pure luck, as you say.

This particular ethernet adapter is more likely than anything else to be hampered by Windows Services which are not set to automatically start with the OS.

Pay attention to ICS and TCP/IP based services which aren't running...

Seems my luck went away, had a disconnect this morning. No non-automatic programs but mIRC loaded
Thanks for your suggestion, i'm having trouble locating where to see the automatic ICS and TCP/IP services, but i'll keep looking.
