MAC Addresses are "burned into" Physically on the NIC card. So you really can't change them within Windows 7. Can I ask why you want to change the MAC address?

There may have been an option to "spoof" the MAC address...but you really cannot change it (physically).

I'm unsure how changing your MAC is going to prevent somebody from hacking your network. I think we are losing something in the translation.

I agree with pparks1, Are you talking about the IP Address that has number values (example 192.168.0.1)
or the MAC address that is a 12-digit hexadecimal number?

I posted a command prompt window (not mine found it off the web) that has the IP address and the MAC address.. Which One?

Also they only way to change the MAC address is by "spoofing" it but like pparks1 said it really doesn't change it..

    Hope This Helps..

Search in Start menu for Device Manager.(Or Control Panel->Device Manager) Open it. Explore Network Adapters and click with right click on your network adapter. There select Properties. In Advanced tab select Network Address. There click on Value and enter the MAC that you want to use.

It's rare to find a NIC that allows you to manually enter a MAC address. None of the NICs (wifi and wired) I have allow it. Have you entered a "unique" MAC address, rebooted, and checked to see if that's what is actually reported by your router? I'm curious to see if that actually does anything.

I'm not using router, I'm wired connected to internet. I have also changed my MAC address using that way, and have changed many mac addreses on other pc's. I can't see that OP has mentioned router somewhere...
