Are you able to save anything to the external drive?
    Try 1 small file.
What actually does Win7 say when you try and copy?
Was the external formatted with Win7?
Was the HD setup as an active drive?

it will transfer like a picture fine and no it was not formatted with 7 when tried it says it cant format it. when try to copy it it will start then says that the items are no longer on there and cant be found. as for a active drive i dont completely understand what you mean. also when i try to change the share with on the folder i am trying to copy it wont change off of being locked on the share with nobody.

the lock icon means someone is denied access through the securities tab.

    Right click the HOST folder,
    select properties, security then advanced.

If you see a check box next to anything that says "Deny", remove the check box and apply.

First thing I would do is remove the Inherited permissions from the advanced options under security. It also appears as though you have 2 unknown accounts inheriting permissions from the root.

On the last screenshot, I see that you have multiple additions into the securities tab like "Home Users".
Make sure you're not in another 'group' that has limited access.

2nd screen shows: File No longer located on computer. Is that the file you're trying to "Move"?
